Jumpino is an online gizmo that lets you make discussion circles at the speed of light.
Jumpino is made up of many circles. Circles are live discussion boards. Live means you dont have to refresh to see new posts - they go and come in like instant messaging. Users, like you, make them and groups of users aggregate in each circle. For example, you can make a circle for your close friends. You can check the circle at work and at home - see who's online and check in with them. Circles can be private, or public. They are very flexible so the possibilities are endless. Really.
Friend lists are superficial and unintuitive. You naturally associate yourself with the people in the circles you frequently visit or contribute to. That makes them your friends. Followers ... well, stalking is just creepy.
We want you to get to talking as soon as possible, and to feel free to encourage your friends and family to sign up without any trouble.
They can even try it out without signing up, but signing up is better so everyone knows who they're talking to.
Anything that involves a group of people talking. Some great ideas are: online hangout for you and your friends, long-distance book clubs, classroom discussions, family bulletin boards, multi-person blogs .. and more!
Jumpino is unique because conversations are live yet permanent. It's a fusion of chat and forums. This makes it very flexible and useful.
You can post in any circle. If you're just getting started, you can start posting in .
The Chatterbox style is a simple one-line box. Your post is submitted when you click enter and the font is large and easy to read. This posting style is inspired by chatting and instant messeging. The Expressive style is inspired by larger forum post boxes. It contains some formatting tools and more space for typing.
Upload a new avatar on the Account Options page. We'll resize it instantly for you.
Yes. Every circle has one or more admins. They make the decisions on who they want in their circle. They can ban you or promote you.
To link to another circle, just type a pound sign (#) and then the circle name, with no spaces. For example, if you type #welcome, it will be posted as .
Here are all the formatting options availible on Jumpino:

Send them the link, or use the share button. ![]()
If the circle is private, send your friend the invite link located under the circle sticky. Every 24 hours this invite link is reset.
Yes. While in a circle, click the Online Icon
. A list will appear of the users currently online in that circle.
Starring a circle is like adding it to your favorites. A starred circle shows up in your list on the front page even if you haven't posted in it. Click the star next to the circle name to star it.
Click the yellow star to unstar a circle.
Go to the New Circle page, come up with a name, decide if you want it to be private or not, and click "Make".
We recomend making all circles public unless they will contain sensitive information.
Click the Circle Pref icon
at the bottom bar of your circle page. Under Posting Rules you can choose who can post in the circle. The choices are Anyone, only signed in users and only admin(s) & contributor(s).
Yes. Circles can be used as blogs (we affectionalty call them clogs, or circle blogs). Simply make a public circle, and your pref page under Posting Rules choose Only Admin(s) and Contributor(s). Make sure you are the only admin, and add no contributors. You can now use this circle as your personal blog. Users can star your circle blog and get notified when you update it on their Jumpino front page.
A private circle is just like a public circle except one needs an invite link or a position in the circle to post. A position is having the contributor or admin title. Admins (or the user who made the circle) give out these titles. Invite links are reset every 24 hours.
Send them the invite link under the input area. This link resets every 24 hours. If you would like to invite someone and give them acess that lasts more than 24 hours, promote them to contributor status. Only an Admin (or circle creator) can promote users.
You can't. This would compromise possibly sensitive information located within the private circle.
There is a loophole, however. If the private circle is not used, you can wait for it to get recycled and re-make it as a public circle. it will have the same name but all the content will be purged.
Yes. Only the users that have the invite link, contributors and admins will see the content.
After 2 weeks of inactivity. the circle is cleaned, scrubbed, and emptied out. Now, any user can re-create the circle.
The easiest way is to make a circle - you are automatically the administrator in this circle. If you'd like to be an admin in an already-made circle, you'll have to talk to the current admins and convince them to promote you.
The blurb is a place on your user profile where you can tell other users about yourself. It's a great place to link to your favorite circles. The blurb and userpage are public pages, viewable by all users.
No, but you can make a new account.
Yes.
Jumpino doesn't require you to submit any of your personal information. We don't need to know your first or last name, or your mother's maiden name. The internet is a free and anonymous medium. We want to keep it that way.
The issue of safety is very important to us. We believe anonymity is When people online dont know who you are, they can't negatively affect your real life.
Your posts and the circles you participate in aren't shown anywhere on your profile, so you can invite your mom. No one will know what circles you post in unless they are linked or invited to each circle.
If that isn't comforting enough, you can always make a second account.
For now, Jumpino is undergoing changes every day, and the technology is young. In the future, we hope to offer licensing to businesses that want to use our technology.
